Sanctuary : The Seven-Branched Lamp Stand
The seven-branched lampstand, or golden candlestick, burned continually representing God's light unto the world. None but the Hebrew High Priest could perform the sacred work of trimming and lighting the lamps each morning and evening. So it is that only Messiah, "[who] was tempted in all points as we are" (Hebrews 4:15), can give us the help we need to keep our lights burning. In the morning we need His Spirit to direct us during the day; and at evening we need Him to enlighten our minds as we review the activities of the day.
